Hi all, I didn't think the AC worked in my 2003 Dodge Ram 1500, but one day I turned the truck off, left the knob turned, and came back 20 mins later to find it blowing. Does anyone know what would cause it to run while the truck is off and how I could fix it? The check engine light is also on, so could they be related? Thanks So my buddy brought me over a 2003 Ram 1500 4.7l. It appears that one side of the engine has a blown head gasket. What would be easier to do? Rework the heads or replace the engine? What would take less time? Can I just rework the bad head to get it going? Any help would be great as I have never worked on a Dodge except a PT Cruiser and that is the Devil in disguise! Thank you for any advice given. I have the tools to do either job. I need the quickest and easiest. If engine replacement, anyone ... 2003 dodge ram 1500 parts diagram. This truck has 232k miles and I very recently just changed the oil. Wal-Mart didn't have the oil I normally used at the time (Pennzoil) so I bought Castrol instead and when I started up the truck it was making a lot of noise so I went back to a different store and got my usual oil and afterwards the engine quieted down a lot however this current noise is lingering and I've never heard it before the change, and I'm wondering if this noise is lifter tick, or am I just crazy and this is fine? I already replaced the water pump, bypassed the heater core, and checked for leaks but couldn't find any. It's got about 215k miles and we did preventative maintenance on it for the 4 years we've owned it.
